This website is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA; delivered through Cloudflare data centres in the EU). When you visit it, server log files are processed automatically (IP address, timestamp, pages requested, volume of data transferred, browser and operating system identifiers). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and uninterrupted operation of the site, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: We do not store these log files and have no access to the raw data. Cloudflare processes them solely to operate the site securely and deletes them according to its own retention policy, generally within a few days. No further analysis is carried out by us.
Transfer to the USA: Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; in addition, we have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare that incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Übrig was deliberately built without any server infrastructure of our own. There is no user account, no sign-in and no automatic transfer of data to us or to third parties.
What the app processes: The evenings you mark (the date and the time of your tap) and any optional notes about changes that you enter yourself.
Health data (optional): If you allow it, Übrig reads sleep, heart rate variability (HRV) and resting heart rate data from your health platform (Apple Health/HealthKit on iOS, Health Connect on Android) in order to display them as a thin trace alongside your evenings. These values never enter the count itself — they are purely informational. Access is granted exclusively through your device's system dialog, can be withdrawn at any time (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Health; Android: in the Health Connect settings), and the data never leaves your device. As this is health data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR, the legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you give through the permission dialog.
Where data is stored: By default, locally on your device only. An on-device container (an app group container on iOS) is used solely to share data between the app and the home screen widget on the same device — this too stays local.
Quiet reserve (device backup, optional): On Android you can turn on the "quiet reserve" in the app. When it is active, the evenings you mark are included in Android's automatic device backup and stored in your own Google account (Android encrypts this backup). Google processes that backup under its own responsibility; we have no access to it and do not receive the data. The feature is off by default and only takes effect if you enable it yourself — the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can switch it off again at any time.
Sharing your review: The app offers to share your review, for instance for a conversation with a doctor. Its contents are deliberately limited to the period, the counts and the method; individual days are not included. Whether, when and with whom you share is entirely your decision, made through your device's own share dialog. Nothing is transmitted to us in the process.
Legal basis (all other functions): Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract / use of the app's functionality).
Übrig is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. When you download or update it, Apple or Google respectively processes personal data under its own responsibility — such as your Apple ID or Google account, the time of download and device information. We have no influence over this and do not receive that data. The privacy policies of Apple and Google apply.
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Because all app data is held locally on your device by default, you can view, edit or delete it yourself at any time — for example using the delete function inside the app, or by uninstalling it. You can withdraw your consent for access to health data at any time (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Health; Android: in the Health Connect settings); the optional "quiet reserve" on Android can be switched off again in the app. For any questions, contact hello@thadwi.studio.
