This website is hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA; delivered through Cloudflare data centres in the EU). When you visit it, server log files are processed automatically (IP address, timestamp, pages requested, volume of data transferred, browser and operating system identifiers). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and uninterrupted operation of the site, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Retention: We do not store these log files and have no access to the raw data. Cloudflare processes them solely to operate the site securely and deletes them according to its own retention policy, generally within a few days. No further analysis is carried out by us.
Transfer to the USA: Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; in addition, we have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare that incorporates the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
VIVAL was deliberately built without any server infrastructure of our own. There is no user account, no sign-in and no automatic transfer of data to us or to third parties.
What the app processes: your training activity (which days you practised on and for how long) and your settings (target duration, intensity, whether the feedback is felt or quiet). From this the quiet calendar and your streak are derived. VIVAL does not request special permissions such as location, camera or contacts.
Optional health integration (Apple Health / Health Connect): Only if you explicitly turn it on in the app's notices does VIVAL add your completed sessions as an activity to Apple Health (iOS) or Android Health Connect. This access is used solely to write your own training entries; VIVAL does not read any data from Apple Health or Health Connect. The entries remain in your own Apple Health or Health Connect store, which only you control. You can turn the feature off in the app at any time and revoke the granted permission in your system or Health Connect settings. The legal basis is the performance of the function you have activated, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Apple's privacy terms apply to storage in Apple Health, Google's to Health Connect.
Where data is stored: by default, locally on your device only. On iOS an app group container is used to share data between the iPhone app and the Apple Watch app or the home screen widget — this too stays local, on your own devices.
If you turn on "Sync via iCloud" in the app, VIVAL keeps your streak and your settings consistent across your own Apple devices (e.g. iPhone and Apple Watch). The data resides exclusively in your private iCloud (Apple iCloud/CloudKit, private zone). There is no server of ours, and we have no access to these contents at any time. Sync runs through your own iCloud account and can be turned off again at any time via the switch in the app. The legal basis is the performance of the function you have activated, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Apple's privacy terms apply to iCloud storage; Apple is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
On Android, VIVAL's training data is included in the automatic device backup that your Android system stores in your own Google account (Android encrypts this backup). This preserves your streak and settings when you switch devices or set up a new one. Whether your device creates backups at all is up to you in the Android settings on your device (Settings → System → Backup); the backup then goes, encrypted, to your Google account. Google processes that backup under its own responsibility; we have no access to it and do not receive the data.
VIVAL is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. When you download or update it, Apple or Google respectively processes personal data under its own responsibility — such as your Apple ID or Google account, the time of download and device information. We have no influence over this and do not receive that data. The privacy policies of Apple and Google apply.
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Because all app data is held locally on your device by default — and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud or in your own Google-account backup —, you can view, edit or delete it yourself at any time: by uninstalling the app (which removes the local data), by turning off iCloud sync in the app (iOS), or via the backup settings on your device (Android). Sessions written to Apple Health or Health Connect are managed and deleted directly in those apps. For any questions, contact hello@thadwi.studio. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
